60+1 Sphere Logos
Last week, Sweden released the official logo for the government’s upcoming chairmanship of the rotating European Union presidency in june 2009.
“Openness, dialogue, that Sweden belongs to the core of the EU; light, midnight sun, the Nordic light, openness. A sign that we have nothing to hide,” read the winning submission from the Stockholm-based advertising firm Bacon.
And to express all that, Bacon came up with a 'sphere-logo'. Another one.
For those who are not yet convinced that sphere or globe logos are not particulary original and differentiating, here's sixty more. See how many you recognise.

@Alex: nieuwe Pepsi logo heeft niet dat 3D effect wat de rest wel heeft. Maar ja, het is maar een willekeurige selectie

mooie collectie. tja, grappig om bij elke nieuwe versie van adobe de invloed van nieuwe mogelijkheden weerspiegeld te zien.

@maarten,martien: Inderdaad, vanaf einde vorige eeuw in navolging van Apple en SonyEricsson hebben wel erg veel gerenommeerde design companies hun weg weten te vinden naar de web2.0 verfpot(w.o. Adobe). Neem bijvoorbeeld Landor met Xerox, Holiday Inn en nog vrij recent de rebranding van Citroen. De verandering waar je het over hebt is ook goed zichtbaar in de volgende timeline vanaf 2000: http://www.goodlogo.com/timeline/2000

Ik weet niet of dit direct te maken heeft met het uitkomen van een nieuw Adobe CS pakket. Men kan namelijk met minimaal drie Photoshops terug al deze logo's ontwerpen.
Het is gewoon een trend (of hype?) en ik moet ook bekennen 1 dergelijke logo te hebben ontwikkeld, voor een wereldtapas restaurant. Ik had duidelijk het recht om een wereldbol-symbool te gebruiken.. toch;)
